Blockchain
Provenant will employ a public blockchain to record an encrypted version of the document and its metadata including its originator and history.
A blockchain is like a large virtual book for record keeping. It can hold a historical view of thousands upon thousands of entries in a ‘chain’ of records. Entries for almost any type of data can be recorded. The most well-known public blockchain is the Bitcoin blockchain which records Bitcoin cryptocurrency transactions.
A blockchain has many authors and lives on many computers. A blockchain is distributed and stored on many computers. One person is never in control of the record book or similarly never solely responsible for keeping track of everything in it.
A blockchain is a fortress. Records are impossible to tamper with or forge. Anyone can see records in a public blockchain, though the records themselves may be encrypted. New entries are added to the end of the chain. Entries can never be changed and are secured through distribution and replication.
Zero Knowledge Storage (Zero-K)
Provenant will employ user-side encryption which encrypts data on the sender’s side, before transmitting it to cloud storage.
Provenant cannot access the data its users have stored, thus offering a high level of privacy. This prevents data loss and the unauthorized disclosure of private or personal files, providing increased peace of mind for both personal and business users.
Biometric Multi-Factor Authentication
Face recognition, voice recognition and finger prints are used through mobile devices for identification and controlling access to the Provenant platform.
Once a Provenant account is created, the ID of the creator will be confirmed through their existing online relationships.
APIs
Provenant will leverage existing banking APIs for ID confirmation.
Provenant will provide API access to its blockchain, document management and ID modules.
